In New Hampshire, Maryland Man Sentenced for Social Security Number Misrepresentation

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Klever Peralta, 27, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was sentenced to one year of probation, after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court in Concord to a one-count indictment for falsely claiming a Social Security Number as his own. Peralta pled guilty to the charge on October 3, 2007. Mr. Peralta is expected to be deported back to Equador upon his release.

Peralta, a citizen of Equador, was charged on April 11, 2007 after an investigation by the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General, and the Salem, New Hampshire Police Department. The indictment to which Peralta pled guilty charged that he falsely claimed, while attempting to open a bank account, that a certain Social Security Number was his own.
